She debuted her first single, Here in 2015 when she was aged 19. The single was praised highly both from listeners and critics. The song reached the top spot in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs of the year. That year she also released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five tracks that were the first to reach the charts of Billboard. The track in question was unique because it was based on an interview with Rap-Up, many people related to her journey through self-doubt and discovering to accept herself. Cara is known for including songs about mental health, kindness and self-love into her tracks. All of it is a result of her personal journey as she has struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she describes her album as half-tumultuous and half perfected. She found that therapy has helped her develop and encourages other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11 1996 to parents with Italian heritage. Her parents gave her an instrument when she was barely 10. This ignited her love for music. She began singing covers of her favourite songs at age 13 in order to show the world she had the skills and the courage required to become a professional singer. Actually, one of her songs she covered Sweater Weather could be the song that got her noticed by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to compose and record the songs she composed.
