Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is an unassuming community that is located in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. It is the West Island, to those who don't know about it, is a large area that extends from Lachine to the west. There is an argument that it was the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, the time she spent there was not long. Brugel had a childhood in Courtice close to Oshawa located in Ontario. The first goal she had was to be a dancer but the rapid growth of her body led to she outgrew her dance partners. She admitted in an article written by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. After I outgrew the males in my group, I decided to quit. In Brugel's case, it was the advice of an instructor in drama from her high school which inspired her to take up acting. It was her teacher who advised her to audition for the role of Anne for their school's annual production. After trying out the role, she was chosen as the leading lady for Anne of Green Gables. She was awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to study at York University's theatre Program in 2000. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel's been performing in over 60 shows with big screen and smaller ones. She received the greatest attention when she was cast in her character of Rita of the acclaim-winning television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian on the Season 1 cast of the show and was only seen on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
